Big thanks to our good friend Chris Santos (Judge on Food Network’s “Chopped”) for the shout out in his latest interview!  Here’s an excerpt, from his interview, shouting out The ‘Pearls and giving props to ‘Pearls frontman, Tommy London!
What is your opinion of the New York City music scene?I think we are having a real resurgence in the NYC rock and metal scene after a flat period, and once look in the village voice reveals how many bands are out there working. I’m a huge fan of the gritty rock band The Dirty Pearls (who’s frontman Tommy London should be added to my list of favorite frontmen, alongside Jasin Cadic of the industrial/goth Star Killer) as well as of Doom Metal band Eyes of the Sun, Killcode, and Crooked Man among others. Lots of good stuff happening out there.

THE BORN BRAVE BUS TOUR HEADS BACK ON THE ROAD
Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation Resumes Bus Tour In Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York City and Chicago
Los Angeles (March 13, 2013) - The Born This Way Foundation (BTWF) announced today that the Born Brave Bus is headed back on the road to embark on a four city tour beginning March 16th in Philadelphia and making stops in Washington DC, New York City and Chicago.  The bus tour, which had been postponed in February following the cancellation of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball tour due to an extensive injury, is an effort by the Born This Way Foundation to inspire bravery and promote self-acceptance among young people.  Covered in artwork created by real Gaga fans, the bus and surrounding experience provides youth with an interactive way to meet like-minded peers, and to connect with local resources in their communities including behavioral and mental health services, school psychologists, mentoring, volunteer opportunities and bullying and suicide prevention resources.  While counseling will not be provided on site, youth will be directed to local professionals who can provide services to them on an individual basis.
“Although my daughter is recovering and not able to complete the tour, it is important to her that the Born Brave Bus lives on,” said Cynthia Germanotta, BTWF Co-Founder and President.  ”The bus has already impacted thousands of young people and, with the support of our partner organizations, this incredible resource will continue to help guide the large youth populations of Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York City and Chicago towards local support in their communities.”
The Born Brave Bus Tour will be visiting the four cities throughout March with the goal of bringing it to more cities in the future.  More specific details will be announced shortly at www.bornthiswayfoundation.org
Visitors to the bus can enjoy food, live performances from Lady Gaga’s friends The Dirty Pearls, as well as DJ sets from Lady Starlight and DJ White Shadow in select cities, and fun activities including interactive digital kiosks, games and more.

“New York rock bands have always seemed to have a great trademark gritty aggression and The Dirty Pearls are no exception.  Their latest record,”Whether You Like It Or Not”, has the dirtiness of Guns n’ Roses but the pop energy of Cheap Trick.  We need more bands like The Dirty Pearls”. - Alice Cooper, “Nights with Alice Cooper Radio Show”
